Badass Animal Rescue Presents: Woofstock - Badass Spring Fest!

Brooklyn, NY - Badass Animal Rescue, a leading 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating dogs from high-kill shelters, is thrilled to announce its annual outdoor street fest, Woofstock: Badass Spring Fest! This highly anticipated event marks its 9th year and promises an unforgettable day of celebration, community, and, of course, adorable dogs.

Hosted in collaboration with Canal Bar, a local-favorite establishment in the Gowanus neighborhood of Brooklyn, Woofstock: Badass Spring Fest will transform President Street into a vibrant hub of activities, food, and entertainment. Scheduled for May 4th from 12pm to 5pm, this free event welcomes families, dog lovers, and anyone looking to have a blast while supporting dog rescue.

Since its inception in 2011, Badass Animal Rescue has been at the forefront of responsible rescue efforts, saving over 3,600 dogs from high-risk situations. With a dedicated team of volunteers, Badass focuses on rescuing dogs from underserved communities in the rural American South and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

“We are thrilled to be back on President street for our annual event Woofstock: Badass Spring Fest on May 4th. This event is all about bringing the community together for a day that celebrates every aspect of what makes Badass so special. Our largest free community event filled with fun, dogs and celebration. All are welcome so come join us!” says Krista Almqvist, Executive Director at Badass Animal Rescue.

This year, Badass Animal Rescue is proud to acknowledge the generous support of its sponsors: Heart of Chelsea Veterinary Group, Virtue Security, Eva’s Dog Camp, Jordan’s Pet Care, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, and All Creatures Veterinary Group. Their contributions have played a crucial role in making Woofstock possible and furthering the mission of saving and rehabilitating dogs in need.

Attendees can look forward to a plethora of activities catering to both humans and their furry friends. Highlights include a magician for dogs, face painting, a doggy kissing booth, and an exciting raffle to support Badass's ongoing rescue efforts. Of course, the stars of the show will be the 30+ adoptable Badass dogs, eagerly awaiting their forever homes. The adoption event portion of the event will take place from 12-3pm.

The festival will also feature an array of local artisans and food vendors, ensuring there's something for everyone to enjoy. From dog-friendly beats and music to meetups and professional photos, Woofstock promises a day filled with joy, laughter, and plenty of wagging tails.
