BIO: Back home, I'm apparently a sign of good luck — quick, observant, the type everyone's happy to have around. I'm settling in fast: already crate trained without missing a beat, already learned that good things happen when my butt hits the ground, and already discovered pillows are extremely fun to wrestle, even when I roll right off the couch doing it. Give me a treat and a minute to learn the rules, and I'm there.

Zandoli was rescued from Dominica. She was found injured by good Samaritans and brought to the local shelter where she was treated for a broken leg and other more minor injuries. She fully healed and traveled to Brooklyn in late-June 2026.

Back home in Dominica, the zandoli is a small, quick lizard found on every wall and garden, and considered a sign of good luck. It's easy to see why this Zandoli earned the name: she showed up, charmed everyone around her, and within days had her foster impressed by how fast she settled in.
Goofy, intelligent, and entertaining are the words that come up most, and she's a remarkably quick study. Handed an improvised bed of pillows one afternoon, she claimed it before it reached the floor, and it's been her spot since. She sits when she senses the moment, even without the word, and reads context easily: off the couch, leave that, come here.
In a busy home with two young kids, she's shown a rare balance. She matches the energy when things get lively, engages with the children when they seek her out, then takes herself to bed for quiet when she's had enough. Food-motivated as she is, she doesn't beg at the table, stays relaxed around her bowl even with kids nearby, takes treats politely from small hands, and doesn't bark.
She's a crate star who settles quietly overnight and is largely house trained, with only a couple of early, transition-related accidents. On leash she's easy, more interested in a passing squirrel than in other dogs. Her experience living with dogs and cats is still unknown, though so far she's curious and mostly polite meeting dogs on leash.
Off the clock she's a cuddler with a growing love of toys and a whippet's gift for happy high-speed circles before flopping back into lounge mode. When she wants affection, she asks softly, with eye contact and her head in your hand. The early read is a silly, affectionate, quick-learning girl who takes everything, couch tumbles included, in stride.

The dogs in our care are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered (when old enough), microchipped, and given a general health check. Immediate medical needs and medical history will be addressed with the adopter prior to adoption. Complete vet records will be sent shortly after adoption.
