ABOUT ME: Give me a minute and a treat and I've got the rules down: I took to my crate without missing a beat, figured out that good things happen when my butt hits the ground, and decided pillows are the best wrestling opponents, even when I roll right off the couch mid-match. Then I'm all yours for a cuddle. Quick to learn, quicker to snuggle: that's my whole deal.

Zandoli was rescued from Dominica, where good Samaritans found her injured, with a broken leg and other minor injuries that suggested she had been hit by a car. She was treated at the local shelter and has since fully healed. She traveled to Brooklyn in late-June 2026.

Zandoli is the kind of dog who's figured out the house rules before you've finished saying them. Off the couch, leave that, come here: she reads the context and responds, often before the word is fully out. She's goofy, sharp, and quick to adapt. Handed a makeshift bed of pillows one afternoon, she claimed it before it reached the floor, and it's been her spot ever since.
In a busy household with two young children, she showed a rare sense of balance. She matched the energy when things got lively, joined in when the kids came looking for her, then took herself off to bed when she'd had enough. She's very food-motivated but has lovely manners about it: she doesn't beg at the table, stays relaxed around her bowl even with kids nearby, and takes treats gently from small hands.
She's a crate star who settles quietly overnight and is fully house trained. On leash she's generally easy, with the occasional reactive moment toward another dog that she shakes off with a word or a treat. She does well with the right canine match and shared a temporary foster home with a friendly dog beautifully, so a calm, structured introduction is the way to go. Living with a cat is possible too, for an adopter ready to manage a careful introduction.
Off the clock she's a master cuddler who buries her face in you to announce snuggle time, then settles in as a contented couch potato beside her person. She loves her stuffed chicken and breaks into happy, high-speed laps before flopping back into lounge mode. When she wants affection, she asks softly, with eye contact and her head resting in your hand.

The dogs in our care are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered (when old enough), microchipped, and given a general health check. Immediate medical needs and medical history will be addressed with the adopter prior to adoption. Complete vet records will be sent shortly after adoption.
