Zandoli
AGE / WEIGHT: 2 years old / 25 lbs
GENDER: Female
ENERGY: Moderate
GOOD WITH: Dogs - Yes, Kids - TBD, Cats - TBD
BIO: Back home, I'm apparently a sign of good luck — quick, observant, the type everyone's happy to have around. I'm settling in fast: already crate trained without missing a beat, already learned that good things happen when my butt hits the ground, and already discovered pillows are extremely fun to wrestle, even when I roll right off the couch doing it. Give me a treat and a minute to learn the rules, and I'm there.
HER FOSTER SAYS: "I need a new adjective for "amazing!" She's really a terrific dog."

Zandoli was rescued from Dominica. She traveled to Brooklyn in mid-June 2026 and moved into a foster home immediately after arriving.

Back home in Dominica, the zandoli, a small, quick lizard found on nearly every wall and garden, is considered a sign of good luck. It's not hard to see why this Zandoli earned the name: she showed up, made an easy, immediate impression on everyone around her, and within days had her foster running out of new adjectives for how well she was settling in.
Goofy, intelligent, and entertaining are the words used most often to describe her, and they show up in everything she does. She's a fast learner who's figured out that good things happen when she sits, even if she doesn't fully know the word for it yet. Her leash manners started out as enthusiastic zig-zagging but came together fast once treats entered the picture.
She's crate trained, settling quietly through the night, and largely house trained already, with just a couple of isolated accidents that look transition-related rather than a training gap. She's calm but friendly with new people and has been doing well in a foster home with two resident kids. Her experience with other dogs and cats is still TBD, though she's shown curiosity rather than concern when she sees dogs on leash.
Off the clock, she's a cuddler who's started showing real interest in toys, including one memorable morning of full zoomies chasing one around the apartment, pillow-wrestling casualties included. There's more of her personality still unfolding, but the early read is a silly, affectionate, fast-learning girl who treats every setback, tumbles off the couch included, as no big deal at all. -
The dogs in our care are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered (when old enough), microchipped, and given a general health check. Immediate medical needs and medical history will be addressed with the adopter prior to adoption. Complete vet records will be sent shortly after adoption.
