YOLO
AGE / WEIGHT: 2 years old / 52 lbs
GENDER: Male
ENERGY: Moderate
GOOD WITH: Dogs - Yes, Kids - Yes, Cats - TBD
ABOUT ME: Laps are my favorite furniture, and I don’t care that I’m a little big for them. I’ll wander over, climb in, and flop down for a nap while you pet me. Outside, I’m happy to play with my dog roommate. Inside, I’m all mush. I’m learning sit, come, and the tricky one, “off.” A sturdy chew bone keeps my teeth busy. Brooklyn is brand new, so I’m living it one cuddle at a time.
MY FOSTER SAYS: "YOLO is just really the cuddliest dog, any moment he is able to, he is wandering over to us and trying to crawl into our laps (he has no idea he is a big dog)."

YOLO was found as a stray in Georgia and taken in by our rescue partner there, boarding at their kennels until he traveled to Brooklyn in mid-October 2026.

Nobody has told YOLO he’s a big dog, and nobody has the heart to. Any chance he gets, he wanders over to his people and tries to fold himself into a lap, then finds a spot where he’s touching someone and flops down for a nap while being pet. He’s a sweet, curious, goofy, slightly clumsy guy with moderate energy, and hugs and cuddles are his favorite currency.
People are his thing. He’s friendly and outgoing and just wants to melt into whoever is nearby. He’s met a few kids and was polite and sweet, happily matching their energy; school-age kids and older look like a good fit, while babies and toddlers haven’t been tested. He lives with his foster’s resident dog, and the two play together outside. Indoors, he’d rather climb into a lap than wrestle. A dog sibling would suit him but isn’t required. Cats are still unknown.
He’s starting from scratch on commands but already responds to sit and come at home, and he’s treat motivated and picking up the house rules. He’s comfortable in his crate. House training has a good foundation, helped by a steady routine. Leash walking is new to him: he pulls and zigzags, but he’s slowly improving. He’s also working on “off,” since he loves to jump up for hugs and invite himself onto the couch.
He is a bit of a chewer, so sturdy chew bones are a must, and for now nothing can be left in his crate with him. He’s still settling in, so his adopter should plan on continued training and some adjustment time.
For YOLO, living in the moment mostly means locating the nearest lap.

The dogs in our care are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered (when old enough), microchipped, and given a general health check. Immediate medical needs and medical history will be addressed with the adopter prior to adoption. Complete vet records will be sent shortly after adoption.
