Tucks
AGE / WEIGHT: 1 year old / 53 lbs
GENDER: Male
ENERGY: Moderate
GOOD WITH: Dogs - Yes, Kids - TBD, Cats - TBD
BIO: Look, I'm not here to blend in. I'm here to make an entrance — full enthusiasm, zero irony — and ready to be the highlight of your day. I've been through some stuff, but I left all that behind when I crossed that bridge to Brooklyn. These days I'm focused on the important things: destroying squeaky toys, claiming the best spot near the couch, and making sure whoever I love knows exactly how I feel about them. Spoiler: you'll know.
HIS FOSTER SAYS: "He wants to feel he is also part of the family. He loves putting his head on my lap and gets excited to play with toys!"

Originally from the USVI, he was brought to the local shelter in critical condition after being attacked by a group of dogs and abandoned by his previous owner. He was nearly septic and had injuries that required emergency veterinary care. Despite the severity of his injuries, he has healed remarkably well. Traveled to Brooklyn in late March 2026.

Tucks came to Brooklyn after something serious — attacked by a group of dogs, abandoned by his owner, nearly septic when he arrived at the shelter. He survived four days of emergency veterinary care. And then he healed, and he came north, and he walked into his foster home and got to work on the important stuff: squeaky toys, a warm spot near the couch, and making sure his people knew exactly how he felt about them.
He's the kind of dog who parks himself next to you while you work and puts his head on your lap like he's been doing it for years. He greets his foster's friends with the energy of someone who has been personally waiting for their arrival. He is warm, outgoing, and unambiguously affectionate — a dog who has been through a lot and emerged with absolutely zero reservation about loving people.
Named after New Orleans' most irreverent Mardi Gras krewe, known for humor, inclusivity, and commitment to a good time, Tucks lives up to it. He is genuinely fun to be around. He's goofy, playful, and enthusiastic about squeaky toys in a way that his fosters describe as extremely serious. He will attempt to sneak into your bed. This is not a maybe.
He's a moderate to active dog and needs a real outlet for that energy. Leash manners are a work in progress — he pulls with enthusiasm and needs consistent, patient training to get where he should be. He's smart and trainable, and he responds well to someone who's committed to the work.
He's had enough hardship for one life. He's ready for the good part — and he will make sure, every single day, that you know he thinks you're it. -
Tucks is up-to-date on required vaccinations, is neutered, and microchipped.
He tested positive for heartworm and still requires treatment. If Tucks is adopted prior to treatment, Badass will cover the cost of care. If you think Tucks might be a good fit for your home, we can share more details regarding his heartworm treatment plan
