BIO:You’ll totally get my name when you meet me: I really am as bright and friendly as a sunbeam! I’m sweet as can be and love meeting new people. My happy place is outside, whether I’m exploring, going for a long walk, or taking in all the yummy smells of the outdoors. If you’re looking for a pup that radiates joy, then I’m your gal!

From Dallas, TX; she briefly lived in a there home but was returned to the shelter due to financial hardship. Sunbeam arrived in Brooklyn in mid-August 2025.

It’s all in the name — Sunbeam brings warmth, light, and just the right amount of chaos to your life. This smart, affectionate girl is equal parts athlete, goofball, and snuggle buddy. She’s got a brain that never quits and a body that’s happiest in motion — whether she’s running, fetching, wrestling with her dog friends, or diving headfirst into a pond she swears looked solid.
Sunbeam’s foster says she’s blossomed into a confident, cuddly, and hilarious companion. She’s a quick study (she learned “shake” in one sitting and now offers her paw for snacks) and loves to show off new tricks. She’s great with other dogs — from structured playdates to dog park hangs — and friendly with everyone she meets, including kids.
She’s house trained and getting more comfortable being home alone, learning that her people always come back. Once her daily adventures are over, she’s happy to chew on a Benebone, solve a puzzle toy, or melt into a nap next to you.
Sunbeam would thrive with an active adopter who loves adventures and brain games as much as couch time and cuddles. She’s a bright, bouncy girl ready to light up your life — and your living room.

Sunbeam is up-to-date on required vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworm.
She has received a health check and we believe she is in good health. However, we cannot make any guarantees regarding future health or healthcare needs.
Complete veterinary records, dating back to the time of rescue, are typically sent via email after an adoption. They can also be sent in advance of an adoption, upon request.

Sunbeam is eligible for our limited foster-to-adopt program, which gives approved adopters the chance to welcome a dog into their home and get to know them before finalizing an adoption. The foster-to-adopt period typically lasts 2–4 weeks and follows our standard foster guidelines. Interested adopters should submit an adoption application noting their interest in the program and the specific dog—they can connect with the adoptions team for more details.
