Shawn Johnson
AGE / WEIGHT: 6 years old / 40 lbs
GENDER: Female
ENERGY: Moderate
GOOD WITH: Dogs - Yes, Kids - Yes, Cats - Yes
BIO: Strutting into a Badass adoption event, sitting sweetly at a dog-friendly patio, or dramatically snorting on the couch — honestly? All equally good options. I'm a six-year-old who has figured out the important things in life: a solid walk where everyone comes out to watch, a dog friend to curl up with, and a couch that knows my name. I collect toys, too. Haven't quite figured out what to do with them yet, but I'm working on it.
HER FOSTER SAYS: “Shawn loves the couch the most! Her favorite game is - pittie or potato?! 🥔 🐕 (similar to bagel or beagle).”

Shawn Johnson has a walk. Her foster described it as a strut — the kind that suggests she is fully aware that people came out specifically to watch her go by. She is not wrong. She is six years old, she has snorted dramatically her entire life, and she has absolutely no plans to dial it back.
She's a low-to-moderate energy dog with a big personality and a predictable, comfortable daily rhythm: a walk with enough time to investigate everything and everyone, a good stretch of couch time pressed up against her people, the occasional burst of goofy energy, and a lot of snorting. She collects toys without necessarily knowing what to do with them. This is fine.
Shawn is wonderful with other dogs. She's lived alongside dogs of all sizes in foster and been a genuinely easygoing companion to all of them. She was briefly interested in the resident cat when she first arrived, gave it a few days, and then settled into a comfortable coexistence. She loves people — all of them — and is especially warm with kids.
She is house trained, crate trained, and walks well on leash with a head halter, which she's used to and accepts without fuss. What she needs is pretty simple: a patient, affectionate home where she can figure out, at last, that she's not going anywhere. -
Shawn is up-to-date on required vaccinations, spayed and microchipped. She tested positive for heartworm and has completed treatment.
She has received a full health check and is currently in good overall health. However, we cannot make any guarantees regarding her future health or medical needs.
