Rob Rausch

AGE / WEIGHT: 1.5 years old / 60 lbs

GENDER: Male

ENERGY: Moderate

GOOD WITH: Dogs - Yes, Kids - Yes, Cats - TBD

BIO: Southern charm? Check. Shy entrance? Also check—but give me a minute and I’ll couple up with you faster than a Love Island finale. Like my namesake on The Traitors, I may play it cool at first—but once I choose my person, I’m loyal to the end (no dramatic betrayals here, promise). I love other dogs, long walks, and turning into your personal heated blanket the second you sit down. If you’re ready for a gentle Alabama heartthrob with marshmallow energy and zero shady gameplay, I’m ready to make it official.

HIS FOSTER SAYS: “He is an absolute sweetheart. The one way to describe him is a gentle soul. He will be an amazing dog to any type of family.”

  • Given up by his owner as a puppy due to owner illness. Spent a year with a foster before traveling north in late January 2026.

  • Rob Rausch. Yes, the name has a little swagger. The dog? Total marshmallow. Rob is less “rausch” and more soft launch into your lap forever. He’s the definition of a gentle soul — the kind of dog who doesn’t just cuddle, he commits to the role of full-time heated blanket.

Rob is goofy and entertaining in that quiet, endearing way. He loves toys (rope? yes. stuffy? obviously. rubber honker? absolutely.) and will happily entertain himself while you work — but make no mistake, his favorite activity is you. Sitting with you. Leaning on you. Melting into you.

He’s moderate energy — enjoys walks and play — but his superpower is calm companionship. Fostered with another dog and doing well, he’s shown he likes canine friends and even gets good reports from daycare. Cats are TBD.

With people, Rob is shy at first. He very much wants to say hello… his body just occasionally betrays him with a nervous piddle when meeting new folks (or when his favorite person comes home). It’s submissive, not spiteful, and we expect it will improve as his confidence grows. He warms up beautifully and is incredibly sweet, gentle, and cuddly once he feels safe. We anticipate he’d do well with kids of any age, though he hasn’t lived with them yet.

Training is in progress. He’s building crate skills (with a dramatic first-five-minutes protest), working on consistent outdoor potty habits, and practicing sit and touch. Confidence building is the name of the game.

From AL, Rob was deeply loved and surrendered due to owner illness. If you’re looking for a soft-hearted, toy-loving, lap-dog legend with emotional-support potential, Rob is ready to choose you.

  • Rob is up-to-date on required vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworm.

He has received a full health check and is currently in good health. However, we cannot make any guarantees regarding his future health or medical needs.

Complete veterinary records, dating back to the time of rescue, are typically sent via email after an adoption. They can also be sent in advance of an adoption, upon request.
