Rebecca Black
AGE / WEIGHT: 4 years old / 32 lbs
GENDER: Female
ENERGY: Moderate
GOOD WITH: Dogs - Yes, Kids - Yes, Cats - Yes
ABOUT ME: Mealtime is the highlight of my day, and a belly rub from you is a close second. I also love exploring outside and gnawing a good antler. Inside, I’m the easiest houseguest around: I hop in my crate when asked, settle down, and sleep through the night. Car rides? I watch the scenery or nap. Give me a day with a new dog, then it’s wrestling time. Cats? Happy to be roommates. My name, though? Still learning that one.
MY FOSTER SAYS: "This girl loves a belly rub. With just the slightest encouragement, she drops and shows her belly. Also she has the most animated butt wiggle when she’s excited or happy. Her whole back end wags... right until she flops over for a belly rub."

Rebecca Black’s owner left her boarding with our rescue partner in Georgia before moving out of state, saying she would come back for her. She never returned and could not be reached. Rebecca traveled to Brooklyn in mid-October 2026.

Rebecca Black has a signature move, and it takes almost no encouragement: one kind word and she drops to the floor, belly up, ready for rubs. First, though, her whole back end gets in on the action, a butt wiggle so animated it seems to have a mind of its own. She’s a goofy, friendly, smart girl with moderate energy who makes friends with people fast and happily accepts pets from anyone offering.
She has lived in a home before, and it shows. Her foster says she's very easy to have around. She’s perfect in her crate, heads in quickly when asked, settles right away, and sleeps peacefully overnight. She’s been accident-free and appears house trained, and in the car she either watches out the window or lies down.
Food is her favorite subject. She gets very excited at mealtimes and whenever treats appear. That motivation makes her a quick study: show her a treat and you have her full attention. She’s pretty good on leash, if a little curious and easily distracted, and practice ignoring distractions will help.
Living with another dog, she spent about a day casually coexisting before the two started playing and wrestling happily. She’s been cat-tested and shared a room calmly with cats, sniffing a bit with no urge to chase. Her experience with kids isn’t known yet but she has seemed comfortable around them outside the home. She’s still settling in and has just moved to a new foster home, so some adjustment and backsliding are normal.
Belly rubs, a full bowl, and a friend to snuggle: Rebecca’s wish list is refreshingly short. -
The dogs in our care are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered (when old enough), microchipped, and given a general health check. Immediate medical needs and medical history will be addressed with the adopter prior to adoption. Complete vet records will be sent shortly after adoption.
