ENERGY: Puppy energy!
GOOD WITH: Dogs - Yes, Kids - Yes, Cats - TBD
ABOUT ME: Play it cool during the day, then absolutely lose it when a toy comes out. That's my whole personality. I do a solid impression of a mellow lab while my people work, then I fling myself at you with my crinkle lizard like it's a sport. New folks get a shy once-over before I decide they're mine. Loud trucks still rattle me, but I'm learning. Snuggles? Always.
MY FOSTER SAYS: "Poncho loves to play puppy park parkour right now, throwing herself into you as she runs back with her lizard toy. Otherwise she's very mellow, lab-like during the day while I work from home. She loves to snuggle up to new people."

Poncho Punch was born in early May 2026 in a foster home, after her mother was found heavily pregnant at a shelter in Selma, Alabama. She was one of a litter of nine puppies. She traveled to the Brooklyn area in late July 2026.

Here's the thing about this pup: she does a convincing impression of a mellow, lab-like couch companion all day, then the moment a toy appears, she transforms into a puppy-park parkour athlete, flinging herself at you as she races back with her beloved crinkle lizard. She's sweet, clumsy in the best way, quick to learn, and quietly cautious until she's decided you're worth her whole heart.
With new people she starts a little shy, then melts fast, angling for pets from anyone willing to stop on the sidewalk. She's curious and social with other dogs, big or small, and would happily share a home with a canine sibling, though she doesn't require one. She's still young, so how she'll do with kids or cats is genuinely unknown for now.
She's crate trained and travels like a champ. House training and leash manners are both a work in progress, the latter involving some enthusiastic criss-crossing in front of your feet. Loud trucks and motorbikes can startle her, but she's taking city life in stride. When she's not playing fetch or claiming the occasional shoe, she's a champion snuggler.
What she needs is someone ready for the puppy chapter: a bit of training patience, a steady presence while the big-city sounds get familiar, and a lap for all that snuggling. The rest, she's already got figured out. -
