ABOUT ME: Give me a day or two and you'll see the real me: a little shy at first, then completely, shamelessly cuddly. I like to stay close, usually wedged against you or army-crawled under whatever furniture you're sitting on. I'm gentle with other dogs, great in my crate, and getting the hang of city walks (so many things to sniff). Mealtime zoomies are my cardio. Mostly I just want to be near my person.
MY FOSTER SAYS: "Otter is the biggest cuddle bud. If you sit down on the floor she immediately runs over and tries to sit right next to you. Yoga has been a little difficult."

Otter Pop came from Selma, Alabama. She was found pregnant at the shelter and had her litter in foster care before traveling to Brooklyn in late July 2026.

Otter Pop is a gentle, friendly young dog who does everything at her own thoughtful pace. She can be a little shy when she first meets someone, offering a polite sniff and a cautious pet, but stick around and the goofball emerges: playful, wiggly, and devoted to being wherever her people are.
She is happiest staying close. Sit on the floor and she'll come lean against you; settle on the couch and she may army-crawl underneath it to nap at your feet. Her energy runs low to moderate for now and is climbing as she settles in, with reliable zoomies around mealtime and an enthusiasm for tug and a good chew toy.
Otter Pop is polite and easygoing with other dogs, happy to sniff and move on or to spark a round of play when the mood strikes. She's crate trained and walks nicely on leash, though she'd sniff every square inch of the sidewalk if you let her. House training has a solid foundation. She hasn't been around cats yet, and time with kids is still being sorted out but based on everything we've seen we think she'd be happy in a home with young humans.
What makes her story easy to root for: she came into rescue expecting a litter and raised her puppies before getting the chance to just be herself. Now she's ready for a calm, patient home where a slightly cautious girl can land, settle, and turn into the cuddle machine she clearly wants to be.
Someone steady is all she's after. -
Otter Pop is up-to-date on required vaccinations, spayed and microchipped. She tested positive for heartworm and still requires treatment. She has received a full health check and is currently in good health. However, we cannot make any guarantees regarding her future health or medical needs.
