Mirabel Madrigal
AGE / WEIGHT: 5 years old / 50 lbs
GENDER: Female
ENERGY: Moderate
GOOD WITH: Dogs - Yes, Kids - TBD, Cats - TBD
ABOUT ME: People are my favorite thing in the world. I'll wiggle up to say hello to anyone, then flop down for some quiet company once I've made my rounds. I love kids, I love a good walk, and I love a play session followed by a long, cozy nap. I have an independent streak too, so I'm happy pottering nearby while you do your thing. I'm ready for a home to call my own again.
MY FOSTER SAYS: I will arrive in Brooklyn soon! Badass will share more as soon as I’m in a foster home.

Mirabel is originally from Selma, Alabama, and first came into rescue with a littermate. She was adopted in 2021 and returned to rescue in June 2026, when her owner experienced housing instability and could no longer keep her.

Mirabel is a sweet, affectionate, people-loving dog who treats a room full of strangers as a room full of friends she hasn't greeted yet. She is playful and easily delighted, with a moderate energy level and a lovely independent streak, the kind of dog who is thrilled to see you and also perfectly content to relax nearby.
She adores people of all ages and has been gentle and friendly at adoption events. She loves kids, sometimes a little too enthusiastically, so small children should be supervised while she learns that not everyone wants a full-body wiggle at once. With other dogs she is sociable but just as happy keeping her own company, and she does best in calm settings rather than high-energy free-for-alls. She can live with cats with thoughtful management, though a bolting cat may tempt her to give chase.
Mirabel is crate-trained and house-trained, and she may need a little extra patience and a few more potty breaks while she learns a new routine. She walks nicely on leash, though city life will be a new experience for her. One practical note: she eats and drinks quickly, so a slow-feeder bowl helps her pace herself.
She is a loving companion who is between homes right now and ready to settle into a steady, affectionate household. A patient home that offers her a predictable routine will get the very best of her: a warm, wiggly, deeply devoted friend who is always glad you're around. -
The dogs in our care are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered (when old enough), microchipped, and given a general health check. Immediate medical needs and medical history will be addressed with the adopter prior to adoption. Complete vet records will be sent shortly after adoption.
