BIO: I'm goofy, sweet, and braver than I used to be. New faces make me pause, but give me a moment and I come around, especially if there's food involved. Food is my love language. My signature move is a gentle paw tap when I'd like more head scratches, which is always. I'm happiest curled up somewhere calm with my person close by, taking this big new world one confident step at a time.

Mero Beach was rescued from a shelter in Dominica, where she arrived as a puppy alongside her mother and remained for more than two years. She traveled to Brooklyn in mid-June 2026.

Mero Beach spent more than two years at a shelter in Dominica, where she arrived as a puppy alongside her mother and stayed long after her siblings were adopted. All that waiting never dimmed her: she's a sweet, goofy, quietly entertaining girl who's now discovering home life and gaining confidence by the day.
Indoors, she's a different dog than she is on the sidewalk. At home she's calm, cuddly, and completely content, happiest curled up somewhere quiet with her person nearby. She's already claimed a signature move, a gentle paw tap asking for more head scratches. The outside world is where she's still catching up, though she shows noticeably less worry there than she used to, and she's started responding to her name on walks. New people get a careful read before she decides they're okay, and with a little time she warms up and even invites a few pets.
Food is the fastest way to her heart. She lights up at the very sight of it, far more than any toy so far. She's crate trained and loves her crate, she's house trained and no longer having accidents indoors, and her leash skills are coming along, steadier on calm streets than loud ones. She watches other dogs with curious interest from a comfortable distance and could share a home with an easygoing canine friend, though she doesn't need one. Cats and kids are still unknowns.
The right fit is a calm, patient home that lets her set her own pace and enjoys watching a once-shy dog decide, day by day, that the big world is a pretty good place after all. -
Mero Beach is up-to-date on required vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworm. We believe she is in good health.
