BIO: A lunch date turned into an unexpected drag show, and instead of getting rattled by the noise and the crowd, I just joined in. That's basically my whole personality: calm, easygoing, and ready for whatever the day throws at me. I'm gentle with the people I trust, I'm building a real friendship with my foster brother, and I will take a treat from literally anyone, anytime, no questions asked.
HIS FOSTER SAYS: "Maubi is such an adaptable little guy. He's a great companion, welcoming new dogs into Brooklyn at the office or at a rooftop pool party. As long as there are snacks and belly rubs involved, he will go anywhere with you."

Maubi was rescued from the island of Dominica, where he injured his back left knee after being hit by a car; the leg was saved, and he gets around well despite a noticeable limp. He traveled to Brooklyn in late June 2026.

Maubi's foster took him to lunch one weekend, unaware a drag show was about to break out around them. Most dogs would find the noise and crowd a lot to handle. Maubi simply joined in, tail going, fully part of the show, photo with a queen included. It is the clearest proof yet of what his foster already suspected: very little rattles this dog.
He's gentle, friendly, intuitive, and eager to please, and he tends to look to his people and his foster brother for a read on anything new. He's been sweet with a baby he met, and he's done well with cats: a little too playful with the resident cat at first, he took one warning hiss in stride and now coexists with them easily. His real joy is other dogs. He and his foster brother Roscoe are fast best friends who play and cuddle. He'd happily share a home with another dog.
Maubi has an old leg injury from being hit by a car, which leaves him with a noticeable limp. He gets around well, though he'll sometimes sit down for a break partway through a walk, so a home happy with a relaxed walking pace suits him nicely. He has a crate foundation (a treat helps him settle), and house training has come a long way. He can be mouthy and is a bit of a counter-and-trash investigator, so he currently does best with supervision and dog-proofing.
His favorite way to spend a day is simple: cuddling, hanging close, and orbiting his human and dog friends. He wasn't much for toys at first but has recently started to enjoy them. He'd thrive with a patient adopter who enjoys a dog that reveals a bit more of his sweetness every day. -
The dogs in our care are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered (when old enough), microchipped, and given a general health check. Immediate medical needs will be addressed prior to adoption.
A medical history can be sent to applicants and approved adopters.
Complete vet records will be sent shortly after adoption but can also be sent pre-adoption, upon request.
