BIO: Naps are a hobby I take very seriously, thank you. I'm a gentle, goofy puppy with a surprisingly low-key streak: give me a minute to shake off the shyness and I turn into a wiggly, playful cuddlebug. I love a good game of fetch and destroying a squeaky toy almost as much as I love climbing into a lap. I'm little and still learning my manners, but the affection? Already fully installed.

Major Mango is from Selma, Alabama, where her mother was found heavily pregnant at a shelter and gave birth to a litter of nine puppies in foster care. Born in early May 2026, she traveled to the Brooklyn area in late July 2026.

Major Mango is a goofy, gentle, playful puppy who greets the world like it was arranged for her benefit. She's friendly and outgoing, trotting right up to new people on the sidewalk to say hello, and she brings the same happy enthusiasm to just about everything she does.
True to her age, she has plenty of puppy energy. She'll play hard, especially with bigger dogs, then crash into a dead-asleep cuddle once the fun runs out. She's a devoted fan of fetch and of thoroughly working over a squeaky toy, and she's an immediate, enthusiastic snuggler when it's time to wind down.
She has lived with young children and been comfortable and gentle with kids of all ages, and she's playful and easy with other dogs, so a home with a canine playmate could be a nice fit, though it isn't required. She's also been fostered with a cat and did well, so a home with cats works for her too.
As a young puppy new to city life, she's at the very start of her training. Crate, house, and leash skills are all works in progress, which is exactly where they should be at her age.
She'll do best with patient people who can keep up with a growing puppy and channel all that happy energy. The rest of her personality is still unfolding, one nap and one zoomie at a time. -
Major Mango is up-to-date on required vaccinations and microchipped. Due to her age, she has been tested for heartworm. She has also not yet been spayed; this procedure will need to be done no later than 6 months of age.
She has received a full health check and is currently in good health. However, we cannot make any guarantees regarding her future health or medical needs.
Complete veterinary records, dating back to the time of rescue, are typically sent via email after an adoption. They can also be sent in advance of an adoption, upon request.
