Khaleesi
AGE / WEIGHT: 5 months old / 41 lbs
GENDER: Female
ENERGY: Moderate
GOOD WITH: Dogs - Yes, Kids - Yes, Cats - Yes
ABOUT ME: Stairs used to be terrifying. Now I bound up them so fast my legs can’t keep up, and yes, I’m very proud of myself. I’m a goofy, fluffy, fast-learning puppy who wants every person on the sidewalk to say hi. Dogs? Let’s play. The cats at home? I follow them around a little, then let them be. I like company nearby, a rope toy, and a stuffed Kong. Every queen starts somewhere.
MY FOSTER SAYS: “She wouldn’t do my apartment steps and was so scared so I had to carry her big self up and down. … Now she’s bounding up them so fast that her legs can’t keep up. She’s so gangly and awkward! But then also so proud of herself when she does!”

Khaleesi entered a Georgia shelter as a stray in early September 2026. She spent time in a foster home in Georgia before traveling to Brooklyn in mid-October 2026.

Khaleesi’s first encounter with her foster’s apartment stairs did not go well. She refused, so she was carried up and down. The next day she tried a few steps, and now she bounds up so fast her legs can’t keep up: gangly, awkward, and enormously pleased with herself.
She’s a Great Pyrenees puppy, which means plenty of fluff now and a lot more dog later. She’s goofy, clumsy, gentle, and attached to her people, with moderate energy and a sharp mind. She picked up “sit” almost immediately, answered to her nickname within days, and is now working on “down” and sitting at crosswalks. She’s still in the puppy-biting phase, so expect some mouthing while she learns.
People are a highlight. She tries to get everyone she passes on the street to say hello. Visitors to the apartment get a more cautious first look, but she warms up quickly. She’s playful with every dog she meets outside and did well living with dogs in her Georgia foster home. Indoors she shares space with two cats, following them around out of curiosity before mostly leaving them alone.
On the practical side, she’s mostly house trained, with occasional accidents. She’s happy in her crate when someone is home. Alone time is still a work in progress. She’s pretty good on leash, though birds, squirrels, and potential playmates can inspire a lunge. Park runs and sticks are her newest passions.
She’d like a home with a rope toy, a stuffed Kong, and someone to help her mature into a well-adjusted dog. Stairs optional; she’s got those handled now.
