Kevin
AGE / WEIGHT: 10 years old / 66 lbs
GENDER: Male
ENERGY: Moderate
GOOD WITH: Dogs - Yes, Kids - TBD, Cats - TBD
ABOUT ME: Put the book down. I’m right here, and my head fits perfectly under your hand. I’m a friendly older guy who loves people, loves a good cuddle, and will nudge you until the petting resumes. Treats are fine, I guess, but attention is my real currency. On walks I’ve got my own ideas about which way we’re going. Mostly, though, I’d rather be on the couch with you.
MY FOSTER SAYS: "He sometimes won’t let me read because he nudges my hand so much for pets."

Kevin came to us from Selma, Alabama, where he was abandoned by his owner as a senior dog. He traveled to Brooklyn in late September 2026.

Kevin has one rule: if your hand is free, it should be petting him. Settle in with a book and he’ll nudge your hand again and again until you give up on reading and give him your full attention. He’s a friendly, people-loving senior with moderate energy, and his favorite way to spend the day is cuddling and relaxing close to his person.
He’s intuitive and attached, the kind of dog who quickly figures out where his people are and makes sure he’s nearby. He’s still settling in, so expect more of his personality to emerge with time. Treats don’t do much for him; affection is what he’s after.
He loves people and greets them warmly. He’s lived with another dog and has been friendly with most dogs he meets on the street, though he can occasionally be reactive on leash, so dog introductions should be thoughtful. His experience with kids and cats isn’t known yet.
He’s house trained and hasn’t needed a crate in his foster home. Leash manners are a work in progress, and he has his own ideas about the route, so a patient walking partner suits him well.
He’s named after the very first dog Badass ever rescued, which is a lot to live up to. So far, he’s handling the pressure from the couch. -
The dogs in our care are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered (when old enough), microchipped, and given a general health check. Immediate medical needs and medical history will be addressed with the adopter prior to adoption. Complete vet records will be sent shortly after adoption.
