Jonquel Jones
AGE / WEIGHT: 1.5 years old / 52 lbs
GENDER: Female
ENERGY: Moderate
GOOD WITH: Dogs - Yes, Kids - TBD, Cats - Yes
BIO: My people say I'm a team player, and honestly? Guilty. I'm at my best when there's someone to cuddle with, a dog to wrestle in the morning, and a lap to pass out in by evening. I'll greet you like you just won a championship — jumping up, asking for pets (it's cute, I promise). I play hard, snore harder, and I'm not done impressing you yet.
HER FOSTER SAYS: “When she realizes you're not gonna play with her, she passes our next to you and SNORES. Get this girl a CPAP, am I right?”

Jonquel Jones — JJ to her friends — is a goofy, social, endlessly affectionate dog who operates on one simple philosophy: more cuddles, more dogs, more fun. Like her namesake, a 2024 WNBA Finals MVP known for quiet dominance and team-first energy, JJ brings the kind of steady, warm presence that makes everyone around her better.
She's a people magnet. JJ is happy to say hello to anyone nearby, asking for pets and cuddles with the confidence of someone who has never once been told no. She can get a little mouthy when she's excited — but it's more enthusiastic than aggressive, and she settles down quickly. She's the dog who will chew on your hand while you watch TV and then pass out in your lap mid-nibble.
JJ is an absolute dream with other animals. She and her foster sibling do a full wrestling session every morning and have established a genuinely sweet rhythm together — playful but respectful of boundaries. She's also been cat-tested and passes with flying colors (she gave one cat an unsolicited ear cleaning, which went better than expected).
Basic training is a work in progress. She has a solid crate training foundation and sleeps through the night — though she does occasionally announce the dawn at 6:30 AM with some enthusiasm. Leash walking needs work: she wants to meet everyone and sniff everything.
JJ will thrive with an adopter who's ready to invest in basic training, loves an affectionate, friendly dog. She's a teammate through and through. -
JJ is up-to-date on required vaccinations, spayed and microchipped. She tested positive for heartworm and still requires treatment. If JJ is adopted prior to treatment, Badass will cover the cost of care. If you think she might be a good fit for your home, we can share more details regarding her heartworm treatment plan.
She has received a full health check and is overall good health. However, we cannot make any guarantees regarding her future health or medical needs.
Complete veterinary records, dating back to the time of rescue, are typically sent via email after an adoption. They can also be sent in advance of an adoption, upon request.
