BIO: The second I meet someone, I'm in. No awkward getting-to-know-you phase, no slow warm-up — I just decided we're friends now, and that's that. I'm the kind of guy who knows how to exist in a home like I've always lived there. Walkies? Obsessed. Cuddles after? Obviously. I've got good manners, a chill disposition, and an enormous amount of affection to give. Come find me.

JD was brought into to a Texas shelter as a stray, with no known background. He traveled to Brooklyn in mid-May 2026.

JD arrived with something you don't always see in a dog fresh off transport: instant, unshakeable trust. The moment he met his foster, it was settled. You're his person now, whether you're ready for it or not. Named after the lovably earnest, deeply feeling protagonist of Scrubs, JD lives up to the comparison: emotionally intuitive, endlessly affectionate, and completely convinced that everyone he meets is his new best friend.
On leash, he's a revelation. No pulling, no zigzagging, just a smooth, proud trot that would honestly make a show horse jealous. Back at home, he's equally impressive. He's fully house trained and thrives in his crate with sleeping-through-the-night, happiest-boy-in-there energy.
JD's people skills are elite. He loves everyone — fosters, doormen, strangers on the street — and he's not shy about showing it. He will jump up to say hello, so some polite greeting work is in the queue, but his enthusiasm comes entirely from love.
He's currently living with both a dog and cats. He's done well alongside the resident dog — walking calmly together and sharing space without issue. With cats, he shows sustained interest and will watch and quietly follow if given the chance, so he'll need a home that can actively manage those interactions.
Like any good protagonist, JD is still writing his story. Whoever adopts him gets to be a main character. He may need some time to find his footing in a new home, and a little regression along the way is part of the plot. But if his first days are any indication, the ending is going to be great. -
JD up-to-date on required vaccinations, spayed and microchipped. He tested positive for heartworm and still requires treatment. He has received a full health check and is currently in good health. However, we cannot make any guarantees regarding his future health or medical needs.
