Jagger
AGE / WEIGHT: 5 years old / 60 lbs
GENDER: Male
ENERGY: Moderate
GOOD WITH: Dogs - Yes, Kids - Yes, Cats - TBD
ABOUT ME: Want to go out? I’ll bring you one sneaker and set it at your feet. No chewing; that’s for my toys. I’m a big, easygoing guy with polite manners: I walk right at your side, I love my crate, and I haven’t had a single accident inside. Greet me with some enthusiasm and I’ll match it, paws up and kissing your face. Other dogs? Happy to share the room. Turns out I’ve got the moves.
MY FOSTER SAYS: "When he met me, he jumped up and immediately started wagging his tail and licking me.”

Jagger was found as a stray in Georgia after he turned up at a family’s home. The family fostered him and then he boarded with our rescue partner. He traveled to Brooklyn in mid-October 2026.

When Jagger wants to go out, he fetches one sneaker and lays it at your feet. He doesn’t chew it; he doesn’t chew anything but his toys. He just makes his point, politely, the way he does most things.
He’s a big, easygoing adult with moderate energy who has come a long way since our team first met him in Georgia, when he kept to himself. These days he’s friendly with everyone and quick to warm up. He occasionally greets people by putting his front paws on them, though he calms easily and redirects well. Meet him with enthusiasm and he’ll hand it right back, usually as face kisses.
He’s been gentle with kids. He reportedly did well with a school-age boy in the Georgia home that took him in, and he sat calmly while his foster’s young niece brushed him. With other dogs he’s a mellow roommate rather than a playmate, happy to share space without much interest in wrestling. His experience with cats isn’t known yet.
He’s still settling into Brooklyn, but the early report card is impressive. He loves his crate and never fusses in it, hasn’t had an accident in the house, and walks nearly at a heel without pulling. He enjoys exploring new spaces at his own pace, checking in with his person between investigations, and carries his stuffed Kong around like a favorite briefcase.
His moves, it turns out, are mostly kisses and sneaker delivery. -
The dogs in our care are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered (when old enough), microchipped, and given a general health check. Immediate medical needs and medical history will be addressed with the adopter prior to adoption. Complete vet records will be sent shortly after adoption.
