ABOUT ME: I'll admit it, I'm a little shy at first. But stick around a few days and you'll meet the real me: zoomies everywhere, toys flying, stuffing evicted from anything squeaky. I collect socks like treasure, I greet my favorite people with actual hugs, and I would trade almost anything for rotisserie chicken. I get braver every week, and fair warning: your socks are now part of my collection.

Immortelle is from the island of Dominica; no information about her history before she was rescued is available. She traveled to Brooklyn in late June 2026.

Immortelle is a gentle, sweet-natured girl who doesn’t hand out her whole personality at once. She gives it slowly, and it lasts. Underneath the reserve is a genuine goofball with so much puppy energy that strangers regularly ask if she’s a puppy. Lately a stubborn, sassy side has started showing up too, a sure sign she’s getting comfortable.
Mornings are her moment. She tosses toys in the air, tears around in happy zoomies, and methodically evicts the stuffing from anything squeaky. She hoards socks (for collecting, never chewing) and greets her favorite people with real, two-paws-up hugs. At the park she zooms on a long line and, when she’s especially delighted, launches straight up like a pogo stick.
She warms up at her own pace. Women win her over faster. Men take longer, and she’s recently started giving a few barks at men who pass close or try to say hi before she’s ready, so she needs a person who lets her choose when to engage. She’s been sweet with children who approach her calmly. Other dogs are a growing joy: she loves being chased, does especially well with puppies, and a confident canine companion could help her blossom. She pays street cats no mind.
Immortelle is house trained and a dream on leash most of the time, though she can pull near the park and unfamiliar things can spook her. She sleeps in her crate at night, is an enthusiastic early riser, and has found her big-girl bark for noises outside the door.
Patient people, consider yourselves warned: the hugs are habit-forming. -
The dogs in our care are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered (when old enough), microchipped, and given a general health check. Immediate medical needs will be addressed prior to adoption.
A medical history can be sent to applicants and approved adopters.
Complete vet records will be sent shortly after adoption but can also be sent pre-adoption, upon request.
