GOOD WITH: Dogs - Yes, Kids - Yes, Cats - TBD
ABOUT ME: I'll admit it, I'm a little shy at first. But stick around a few days and you'll meet the real me: zoomies everywhere, toys flying, stuffing evicted from anything squeaky. I collect socks like treasure, I greet my favorite people with actual hugs, and I would trade almost anything for rotisserie chicken. I'm braver every week, and I save my best hugs for the people who don't rush me.
MY FOSTER SAYS: "She hugs me when she first gets out of her kennel in the morning and when I get home from work."

Immortelle is from the island of Dominica; no information about her history before she was rescued is available. She traveled to Brooklyn in late June 2026.

Immortelle is a gentle, sweet-natured girl who doesn't hand out her whole personality at once. She gives it slowly, and it lasts. She's still finding her footing in a brand-new city and stays on the shy side while she does, watching the world with soulful, cautious eyes. Underneath the reserve, though, is a genuine goofball with a big playful streak.
On a good morning she's tossing toys in the air, tearing around in happy zoomies, and methodically evicting the stuffing from anything squeaky. She hoards socks (for collecting, never chewing), turns a stray towel into a playmate, and greets her favorite people with real, two-paws-up hugs. She's just as content curled up with a long-lasting chew.
She warms up at her own pace. She's bonded closely with her foster, wins over female visitors quickly, and takes a little longer with men, though she's making steady progress and isn't reactive, just shy. She's been sweet with gentle children who approach her calmly, walking right up to say hello, though she hasn't lived with them. With other dogs she's friendly but easily overwhelmed, good for a brief, happy hello before she needs a break, so slow introductions suit her. She met a cat once and was curious but nervous, with no urge to chase.
Immortelle is house trained and a dream on leash most of the time, with a deep love of sniffing. She adores her crate, though as she settles in she's become a cheerful early riser who lets you know when the day should start. For the right calm, patient person, this everlasting little flower will bloom into a loyal, affectionate companion. -
