Immortelle
AGE / WEIGHT: 3 years old / 30 lbs
GENDER: Female
ENERGY: Moderate
GOOD WITH: Dogs - TBD, Kids - TBD, Cats - TBD
BIO: I won't pretend I'm not a little shy at first, because I am. But give me a few days and you'll meet the real me: zoomies everywhere, toys flying, stuffing evicted from every squeaky thing I own. I hoard socks, I greet my favorite people with actual hugs, and I'd do just about anything for rotisserie chicken. Give me quiet, patience, and time, and I'm yours. Promise it's worth the wait.
HER FOSTER SAYS: "She hugs me when she first gets out of her kennel in the morning and when I get home from work."

Immortelle is from Dominica and traveled to Brooklyn in late June 2026.

Immortelle is named for a Dominican flower famous for keeping its color long after other blooms fade, and there's something fitting in that. She's a gentle, sweet-natured girl who doesn't hand out her whole personality at once. She gives it slowly, and it lasts.
She's still finding her footing in a brand-new city and is on the shy side while she does. She has soulful eyes and a cautious way of watching the world, but underneath the reserve is a genuine goofball with a big, playful streak. On a good day she's tossing toys in the air, tearing around in happy zoomies, and methodically evicting the stuffing from anything squeaky. She hoards socks (for collecting, not chewing), turns a stray towel into a playmate, and greets her favorite people with actual hugs. She's just as happy curled up with a long-lasting chew.
She warms up at her own pace. She's bonded closely with her foster, is quickly winning over female visitors, and is still more nervous around men, though she's making steady progress and isn't reactive, just shy. She's been sweet with gentle children, walking right up to say hello, though she hasn't lived with them. With other dogs she's interested but easily overwhelmed, managing brief, happy hellos before she needs a break, so slow introductions suit her. Cats are unknown.
Immortelle is house trained and a dream on leash most of the time, with a deep love of sniffing. She adores her crate, though as she settles in she's become an early riser who'll let you know when she's ready to start the day. She's early in her journey, so expect some ups and downs, but for the right calm, patient person, she'll bloom into a loyal, affectionate companion. -
The dogs in our care are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered (when old enough), microchipped, and given a general health check. Immediate medical needs and medical history will be addressed with the adopter prior to adoption. Complete vet records will be sent shortly after adoption.
