Emerald Pool
AGE / WEIGHT: 2 years old / 30 lbs
GENDER: Female
ENERGY: Low to Moderate
GOOD WITH: Dogs - Yes, Kids - TBD, Cats - TBD
BIO: Calm is my whole thing, but don't mistake it for shy. Once I've decided I like you, I'll wander over, lean in, and maybe throw my paws up for a hug. I'm gentle, easy company, and just as happy to nap at your feet as to roll in the grass until I've worn myself out. A soft spot to land and a person to adore is my whole wish list.
HER FOSTER SAYS: "Sweet, calm and cuddly. Her happiness shows when she's rolling in the grass and tearing around."

Emerald Pool was rescued from the island of Dominica as part of a group of dogs brought to the U.S. with the help of a local rescue partner. She traveled to Brooklyn in late-June 2026 and is being fostered outside the city.

Emerald Pool is the calm one in the room, though calm turns out to sell her short. She is gentle and easygoing, moderately energetic, and content to keep her own quiet company until she has decided you are worth knowing. That decision doesn't take long. Once it's made, she pads right over, leans in, and has been known to pop her paws up for a full hug.
She is friendly and affectionate in a low-key way, happiest cuddling and relaxing but perfectly able to switch into joyful bursts of grass-rolling and zooming when the mood strikes. She has lived alongside other dogs and does well, and she has been comfortable meeting kids out and about, so older, dog-savvy children are likely a good fit. Cats are still an unknown.
She's crate trained and house trained, with good manners already in place. Leash walking is her main work in progress, and there's an interesting wrinkle to it: out in the quieter country setting where she's currently fostered, she struts along happily, but busier city streets are less her speed for now. An adopter should expect her to need a little patience rebuilding that confidence once she lands in a Brooklyn home.
What she wants is refreshingly simple: a soft place to relax, a patch of grass to celebrate in, and a person to quietly adore. For someone who values a gentle, drama-free companion with a sweet streak a mile wide, Emerald Pool is a quiet standout. -
The dogs in our care are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered (when old enough), microchipped, and given a general health check. Immediate medical needs will be addressed prior to adoption.
A medical history can be sent to applicants and approved adopters.
Complete vet records will be sent shortly after adoption but can also be sent pre-adoption, upon request.
