Elliot Reid

AGE / WEIGHT: 5 years old / 50 lbs

GENDER: Female

ENERGY: Moderate

GOOD WITH: Dogs - Yes, Kids - Yes, Cats - Yes

BIO: Every room I walk into, I make friends. It's just what I do. I'm a champion sniffer with a moderate energy level and of the opinion that I should be touching a person at all times — you, your friend, a stranger on the sidewalk, doesn't matter. I love kids, I'm good with dogs and cats, and I'm pretty solid on leash (my nose does have opinions, but I'm working on it). Basically: walks, sniffs, and snuggles. That's the dream.

HER FOSTER SAYS: "She's such a LOVE. She has mastered the LEAN and all she wants to do is be touching a person."

  • Elliot was rescued from a small, rural shelter in Texas, where she had been a resident for over two years — outlasting her own litter of six puppies, all of whom were adopted. She traveled to Brooklyn in mid-June 2026.

  • Elliot Reid has been waiting for her Brooklyn era for a long time. And now that it's here, she is making absolutely the most of it.

Named after the warm, eager, and endearingly intense doctor from Scrubs, Elliot the dog delivers on every count. She's gentle and friendly, quick to bond with anyone willing to stand still long enough to receive a full-body lean. And she will lean. Hard. It's how she shows love and she considers it non-negotiable.

Her energy is moderate. She loves a good walk, runs down the stairs in anticipation of going outside, and is a genuinely enthusiastic sniffer. But she's equally happy to decompress close to her person, ideally making physical contact. She does well with other dogs, having been briefly fostered alongside one when she first arrived, and is curious but relaxed around cats.

Elliot is house trained, making good progress on crate training, and has solid leash manners. Her nose occasionally has ideas, but she moves through the world with a calm and easy energy. She loves kids and has been comfortable around them in outdoor settings.

She's been in foster a short time, so all training should be considered a work in progress and some regression is to be expected with the transition to a new home. But what's already clear is that Elliot is an absolute sweetheart — steady, affectionate, and ready to be someone's whole world.

  • Elliot is up-to-date on required vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworm.

She has received a full health check and is currently in good health. However, we cannot make any guarantees regarding her future health or medical needs.

Complete veterinary records, dating back to the time of rescue, are typically sent via email after an adoption. They can also be sent in advance of an adoption, upon request.
