BIO: Give me a minute to suss out a new room and I'm all in — usually with my whole body leaned against your leg, because personal space isn't really my thing. I'm a champion sniffer who lives for a good walk, and I warm up fast once I know you're friendly. Dogs, cats, kids: I'm a fan. Still sorting out the house-training rules, but I'm a quick study. Mostly I just want to be near you.

Elliot was rescued from a small, rural shelter in Texas, where she had been a resident for over two years — outlasting her own litter of six puppies, all of whom were adopted. She traveled to Brooklyn in mid-June 2026.

Elliot Reid is named after the earnest, all-in doctor from Scrubs, and the resemblance is uncanny: this Elliot commits completely. Her preferred way of showing it is the lean — she'll press her whole body against yours and consider the matter settled. Personal space is simply not a concept she recognizes, and she counts this among her better qualities.
She's gentle, sweet, and deeply people-oriented. With someone new she can be a little shy for the first few minutes, especially in an unfamiliar setting, and she tends to warm up to women a touch faster than men. Give her that short window, though, and she turns into an affectionate, wiggly companion who wants to be wherever you are. She's a moderate-energy girl and a champion sniffer who lives for a good walk and comes flying down the stairs the moment she realizes one is happening.
Elliot loves kids and has been comfortable around them outdoors, though she hasn't lived with any. She's good with other dogs and was playful with one she was briefly fostered alongside; on first greetings she can look nervous and tuck her tail before warming up quickly, and she's generally more interested in people than in other dogs. She was curious but easygoing with a foster cat.
On the training front, she's close to crate-trained (happy to walk in when the door stays open, less keen on being shut in) and has tidy leash manners, aside from a nose with strong opinions. House-training is her real work in progress right now, with regular accidents, so her adopter should plan to keep at it. She's a quick study settling into a new life, and a little patience will go a long way. -
Elliot is up-to-date on required vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworm.
She has received a full health check and is currently in good health. However, we cannot make any guarantees regarding her future health or medical needs.
Complete veterinary records, dating back to the time of rescue, are typically sent via email after an adoption. They can also be sent in advance of an adoption, upon request.
