ABOUT ME: Hold me like a baby and I will forgive you almost anything. I'm a short-legged, long-bodied doxie who picks a favorite human and commits hard: cream cheese enthusiast, professional spooner, and a surprisingly fast little lowrider once we're outside. New people take me a minute, so give me a calm intro and I'll come around. Otherwise, my ideal day is a crinkly toy, a snuggly nap, and you nearby.
MY FOSTER SAYS: "He is absolutely on brand for a doxie lover who wants to spoil - and be spoiled by - their short, thick king."

Meet the little dog who stops an entire block. Down low on dachshund legs, he does a lowrider waddle-trot that turns heads, then shocks everyone by being genuinely fast. But the real story is what happens once he decides you're his person: total devotion, constant cuddles, and a strong preference for being held like a baby.
At home he's a goofy, affectionate homebody with moderate energy who lights up for a snuggly nap, a crinkly toy, and a favorite human within arm's reach. He's got classic doxie habits, including a tendency to bury his food with his snout before eating, and he's a bit of a foodie who's more interested in cream cheese and a bite of your bagel than in standard dog treats.
New people take patience. He's reserved and cautious with strangers and warms up on his own timeline, so he'll do best in a calmer, adult-focused home with someone happy to advocate for him and keep introductions slow and positive. He can be nervous in unfamiliar situations and is a bit of a flight risk when startled, so he'll always need secure walking gear.
He's relaxed around other dogs and can share space with a resident dog, though he likes his crate kept as his own quiet zone away from them. Cats and young kids are still unknowns. He already knows a few commands, including sit, stay, off, and come.
House training is a work in progress and his crate comfort is growing. For the right doxie devotee, this snuggly, loyal little king is ready to claim his human. -
The dogs in our care are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered (when old enough), microchipped, and given a general health check. Immediate medical needs and medical history will be addressed with the adopter prior to adoption. Complete vet records will be sent shortly after adoption.
