Cleopatra
AGE / WEIGHT: 4 years old / 53 lbs
GENDER: Female
ENERGY: Moderate
GOOD WITH: Dogs - Yes, Kids - TBD, Cats - TBD
BIO: Patience is a virtue, and I've got it down. I'm not the type to rush up and demand your attention — I'd rather wait for you to come to me, and trust me, you will. Once you do, I'll lean right in and make it worth your while. I'm just as happy on a long walk as I am curled up somewhere sunny, watching the world go by. I've got a little silly side that comes out when the moment's right. Low maintenance, high reward — that's my whole thing.
HER FOSTER SAYS: "She loves to go on walks and LOVES to cuddle now. Any time I stop petting her she boops me with her snout until I start again. She is seriously so chill!"

Surrendered by her owner in the USVI along with another dog (believed to be her son). Cleopatra traveled to Brooklyn in late April and is currently in a local foster home.

Cleo has a move she does in the kitchen. A piece of food drops — she sees it, she looks at you, she looks back at the food, she looks at you again. She doesn't make a move. She just waits, patiently, to find out if it was meant for her. This is Cleopatra in a nutshell: dignified, perceptive, and always reading the room before she commits.
She takes her time with new people and new places — not because she's nervous, but because she's thoughtful. She sizes things up, decides where she stands, and then leans in. And once she's in, she's fully in: resting her head on your knee, nudging your hand when you stop petting her, finding the sunniest spot in the apartment and warming it for both of you.
Walks are her great love. She gets visibly, almost comically excited at the sight of a leash — and then comes home, launches into an enthusiastic living room zoomie session, and returns to her preferred state of graceful, settled calm. The zoomies are brief. The calmness is her natural state. Living with her is genuinely easy.
Cleo came to Brooklyn from the U.S. Virgin Islands and has adjusted to city life with characteristic thoughtfulness — taking it all in without being rattled. She's house trained, crate trained, and walks beautifully on leash. She's done well with dogs of all sizes in her foster homes, and has been comfortable around kids in past environments. Cats are still an open question.
She doesn't need an experienced dog owner. She needs a patient one — someone who will give her a little grace while she settles in and discovers how good it's going to be. -
Cleopatra is up-to-date on required vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped. She tested positive for heartworm and has completed treatment.
She has received a full health check and we believe she is currently in good health.
Complete veterinary records, dating back to the time of rescue, are typically sent via email after an adoption. They can also be sent in advance of an adoption, upon request.
