BIO: How ‘bout them Dawgs! Hi, I’m Boom—a calm, steady senior pup with soft energy and a big heart ready for a home of my own. Like my namesake from UGA football lore, I don’t sprint out of the gate—but once I warm up, I’m the quiet MVP of cuddles, couch time, and peaceful walks. I may be shy at first, but give me patience and understanding and I’ll show you how loyal and loving I can be. Whether we’re watching the game, lounging in the sun, or just taking our sweet time together, I’ll make every day feel like a touchdown.

HER FOSTER SAYS: “Boom likes to nap in her crate but she comes out every so often to get pet and it's the sweetest thing ever.”

  • From a shelter in GA, she was rescued from a home where she was mistreated. Boom traveled north mid-January 2026.

  • Meet Boom — proof that sometimes the quietest dogs make the biggest impact.

Named after the UGA’s beloved bulldog mascot, Boom isn’t exactly charging the field… but give her time. This gentle girl is more of a slow build than a kickoff return, and once she trusts you, her presence lands in that soft, steady way that makes a house feel like home.

Boom has clearly had a rough start. She can be a little shy and can be unsure with new people at first, but don’t mistake that for disinterest. Her tail is usually wagging the whole time. She won't seek your attention but if you offer it, she's all in. Every couple of hours she’ll quietly emerge from her crate just to ask for some pets, then happily retreat back to rest. It’s heartbreakingly adorable.

She’s low-energy and proudly so. Boom is a couch potato who excels at cuddling, lounging, and supervising naps. She’s crate trained, mostly house-trained, and easy to live with overall. Leash skills are still a work in progress. She pulls and zigzags a bit but is totally manageable. And other dogs? She looooooves them. Boom is always eager to say hi and initiate play.

Boom would thrive in a patient, calm home that understands trust is something you earn. She doesn’t need saving — she needs someone lucky enough to be chosen by her. And once she does? That’s a win worth celebrating.

  • Boom is up-to-date on required vaccinations, spayed and microchipped. She tested positive for heartworm and still requires treatment. If Boom is adopted prior to treatment, Badass will cover the cost of care. If you think Boom might be a good fit for your home, we can share more details regarding her heartworm treatment plan.
