Steve Martin

AGE/ESTIMATED WEIGHT: 1-1.5 years old / 52 lbs

GENDER: Male

BIO: My strategy for getting adopted? Be so good they can’t ignore you. And I really am such a good boy! I’m incredibly sweet and silly—I love belly rubs so much that I can hardly contain myself. And my herding behavior is starting to emerge. Don’t be surprised if I loop around your legs and nuzzle you to move a little more quickly! I’m also super smart and love saying hi to new people and pups.

PERSONALITY: Intuitive, intelligent, goofy

  • Meet Steve Martin — a clever, comedic, endlessly entertaining pup who’s as charming as his namesake. He’s the class clown of his foster home, the kind of dog who can make you laugh even as he’s plotting how to turn your slipper into his new favorite toy.

Steve is a smart, high-energy boy who thrives on activity and attention. He’s all about playtime — fetch, tug, squeaky toys, you name it — and has a particular talent for turning every game into a performance. He’s even figured out how to throw his own ball when no one’s available for a game (genius move, really). His expressive ears and full-body wiggles are part of the show, and his goofball charm makes it impossible to stay mad when he goes into “worm mode” — rolling onto his back and grinning when he’s not ready for bedtime.

While Steve is still young and learning, he’s made huge strides in his city-dog skills. His leash manners have improved dramatically and he’s doing great with his potty training. He’s curious and outgoing with people, has been patient and gentle with kids, and loves making dog friends on his walks.

He’s still polishing his house manners — a bit of a toy shredder — but he’s bright, eager to please, and picking up structure fast. Once settled, he’s calm, affectionate, and happy to chill with his favorite stuffed cow after a day of adventures.

Steve Martin is a natural-born entertainer looking for a patient, active adopter who can keep up with his wit, charm, and boundless energy. He’s ready to bring the laughs — and a lot of love — to his forever home.

  • “Steve is a sweet and silly boy! He has the most expressive ears—they’re like little antenna. He loves belly rubs and needs his stuffy in his mouth while he gets pets. He’s also a very smart boy: He’s already figured out how to throw his own ball. He also likes to bring things from my room into the living room, like my slipper or a sleep mask.”

  • We do our best to ensure the dogs in our care are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered (when old enough), microchipped, and given a general health check. Immediate medical needs and medical history will be addressed with the adopter prior to adoption. Complete vet records will be sent shortly after adoption.
