Meet Sally Rooney — yes, she shares a name with the bestselling author, but this Sally’s works are less “literary fiction” and more “joyful chaos with a wagging tail.” She’s a tall, elegant lady who somehow hasn’t realized how tall she is. Her tail alone could double as a metronome or dusting tool.
Sally is a friendly, outgoing pup who greets new people like they’re long-lost friends. She’s been great with kids (as young as 6) in her past life down south and has been equally charming with the ones she’s met here.
Energy-wise, she’s a solid moderate: up for long walks and outdoor adventures, but perfectly content to curl up afterward with a pupsicle, an antler, or a smoked beef bone (which she approaches with the focus of a jewel thief). She’s got a great memory too — when her foster’s daughter came home after months away, Sally remembered her instantly and soaked up all the reunion cuddles.
She’s crate-trained, house-trained, and loves a good training session — especially when peanut butter Kongs are involved. She can be reactive to dogs and city critters on leash, but her foster notes she’s improved over the past six months. We suspect she’d be more relaxed with other dogs in a different setting, since she’s lived and boarded with them before.
Sally’s also got an intuitive streak — she knows when to be silly, when to be sweet, and when to just curl up and watch you splash around in a doggie pool she has zero interest in using.
If you’re looking for a companion who’s equal parts affectionate, entertaining, and whip-smart (literally — watch that tail), Sally Rooney might just be your next leading lady.

“Sally is a very goofy girl—she’s very awkward and gets random bursts of excitement where she wants to jump on everything. She is definitely a dog that wants to play, run around, and learn new tricks!”
