BIO: When I’m not tearing up the soccer field, you’ll probably find me saying hi to new friends. Seriously: I’ll approach anyone and everyone with my signature wiggly butt and infinite affection! When I’m not on the town, though, I love getting comfy and cuddling up with my people. I’m still getting used to all the sights and sounds of the big city, but I’m adjusting like a champ!
FOSTER SAYS: “I have never had a dog that makes so many people stop and say they like her and want to say hi. Rose's charisma is off the charts!"

Found as a stray with another dog. A local Sheriff fed them for a month before deciding they must not have a home and our GA rescue partner stepped in. She traveled north in mid-October 2025.

Rose Lavelle is the kind of dog who doesn’t just enter a room — she wins the crowd. Equal parts gentle sweetheart and accidental social influencer, Rose has an uncanny ability to make strangers stop mid-stride, ask her name, and request a photo. She’ll happily oblige, tail wagging, sitting politely at their feet like she’s done this a thousand times (because she has).
True to her name, Rose is soft, intuitive, and quietly confident — with just enough clumsy charm to keep things entertaining. She’s a moderate-energy gal who loves a good walk, especially if it ends at the park where she can people-watch from her chosen bench like the benevolent mayor she clearly believes herself to be. Cuddling is a competitive sport for her, and she takes gold. When nestled between her people getting pets, she melts into pure butter.
Rose is crate trained, house trained (with the occasional “oops” during transitions), and has polite leash manners. She does have one sightless eye, which mostly just means she may reposition herself on walks to feel more secure — she handles it like a pro. With other dogs, Rose prefers a respectful distance while on leash and would do best in a home that avoids dog parks and instead allows for slow, thoughtful introductions with canine friends.
She adores people of all ages, has done beautifully with kids. And while she started out slightly cautious with men, she has made huge strides — now waiting by the door for her foster dad like his tiny, devoted shadow.
Rose isn’t looking for sympathy. She’s looking for her people. And once she picks you? Lucky you..

Rose is up-to-date on required vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworm.
Since arriving in Brooklyn, she has received needed care for medical issues; these have been resolved and we do not expect they represent ongoing or chronic medical issues. If you think Rose might be a good fit for your home, we can share a more detailed medical history.
Complete veterinary records, dating back to the time of rescue, are typically sent via email after an adoption. They can also be sent in advance of an adoption, upon request.
