AGE / WEIGHT: 2 years old / 44 lbs
GENDER: Female

BIO: I may not play soccer but I do score big in belly rubs and joyful strutting. I’ve got short little legs, a very long middle, and a booty-wiggle walk guaranteed to make you smile. I love meeting new friends and often flop right down to request pets like a pro. I’m sweet, curious, and playful, with great house manners and a love of walks, games, and snow. Ready to add a true MVP to your team?
HER FOSTER SAYS: “Mia has made us giggle nonstop from the moment we met her. She is super sweet and cuddly and she has the cutest short legs and longest torso in all the land.”

Rescued from a shelter in AL. Prior to arriving at the shelter, Mia was an owned dog who was allowed to roam the neighborhood, where she was well known to the community. After she was taken to the shelter, her owner chose not to reclaim her, as they were no longer able to care for her. She traveled to Brooklyn in January 2026.

Meet Mia Hamm — a world-class charmer with a low center of gravity and elite cuddle stats. 🏆
Much like her namesake, Mia brings confidence, agility (in spirit), and undeniable star power wherever she goes. Her signature move? The belly-up greeting. When meeting new people, Mia often flops right down and requests rubs like it’s written into her contract. Friendly, outgoing, and irresistibly goofy, she’s the kind of dog who makes strangers smile within seconds—helped along by her short little legs, extra-long torso, and a booty-shaking strut that deserves its own highlight reel.
Mia’s energy level is a solid moderate: she’s happy with regular walks and playtime, then just as happy to curl up and get cozy. At home, she shows off impressive manners—she’s crate trained, house trained, and generally knows how to behave like a pro. On leash, she does well with only minor corrections, and she doesn’t bark much (though she may offer a little whine while figuring out the best way to release a burst of excitement).
She gets along well with dogs and currently coexists peacefully with her foster dog. If another dog comes in hot with bad vibes, Mia will stand her ground—but otherwise, she’s a team player. She’s been comfortable around kids in other settings, though she hasn’t lived with them full-time. Cats are still a TBD.
Mia loves toys of all kinds, playing fetch, and—surprise MVP move—playing in the snow. She’s sweet, entertaining, inquisitive, and just cautious enough to be thoughtful.
In short: Mia Hamm is ready to be drafted first overall into someone’s home. Lucky adopter.
