GOOD WITH: Dogs - Yes, Kids - Yes, Cats - Yes

BIO: Big, calm, and effortlessly cool, I move through the world with gentle giant confidence. I say hello, accept a few well-earned pets, then post up at your feet like I own the place (because… I kind of do). I’m into walks, playtime, and some respectful wrestling with dog friends, but my real power move is my off-switch. I get along great with dogs and cats, read the room better than most people, and stick close to my humans wherever life happens. If you’re looking for a dog who will choose you hard and fit seamlessly into your weird, wonderful life, congratulations—you’ve been selected.

HIS FOSTER SAYS: “All around great dog. Loves to learn and please his people. He’s such a sweetheart he just want to be loved and love everyone around him.”

  • Rescued after being found as a stray in GA; Jinu arrived in Brooklyn in mid-January 2026.

  • Meet Jinu, Brooklyn’s newest gentle giant (with an impressive sweater collection!).

At just a year old, Jinu is a Great Dane who somehow manages to be equal parts majestic, goofy, and deeply committed to physical affection. His signature move when meeting new people? Gently stretching his enormous head across their arms to request pets, as if to say, “Hello, yes, I live here now.” He is friendly, intuitive, and impressively soft for a dog who could absolutely knock over a coffee table by turning around too fast.

Jinu’s energy level is moderate—he enjoys regular walks and playtime, but his true calling is cuddling. He’s happiest pressed up against his people, another dog, or even a cat (he currently lives peacefully with a resident dog and two cats, adjusting his play style beautifully to each). Dogs of all sizes are welcome in Jinu’s world, and he’s shown excellent social skills with everyone from a high-energy large dog to a 9-lb pup.

Training-wise, Jinu is a star student. He’s crate trained, eager to please, and responds to verbal cues better than most dogs twice his age. Leash walking is a work in progress—he’s strong and enthusiastic about saying hi—but he checks in quickly when redirected and thrives with consistency and structure. House training is coming along as he settles into routine (new environments and brutal winter weather haven’t helped).

Jinu is gentle, easily handled (nail trims included), and deeply attached to his people. Add in his love of peanut butter Kongs, cozy outfits, and dramatic struts, and you’ve got a dog who’s not just ready for a home—he’s ready to upgrade one.

  • Jinu is up-to-date on required vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworm.

He has received a full health check and is currently in good health. However, we cannot make any guarantees regarding his future health or medical needs.

Complete veterinary records, dating back to the time of rescue, are typically sent via email after an adoption. They can also be sent in advance of an adoption, upon request.
