FOSTER TO ADOPT: This dog is eligible for our limited foster-to-adopt program, which gives approved adopters the chance to welcome a dog into their home and get to know them before finalizing an adoption. The foster-to-adopt period typically lasts 2–4 weeks and follows our standard foster guidelines. Carrie Bradshaw knows what she wants — and it’s not the chaos of city living. This soulful hound prefers long walks in quiet neighborhoods, plenty of sniffing opportunities, and a calm home filled with trust and comfort.
After being rescued from a tough start in rural Georgia and spending eight happy years in a home, Carrie returned to Badass when life with small kids proved too stressful for her. She’s since been decompressing and rediscovering her confident, affectionate self in a foster home outside the city — and she’s doing beautifully.
True to her hound roots, Carrie is curious, clever, and guided by her nose. She’s also deeply loyal — once she bonds with you, she’s all in. She can be cautious around new people, but with slow introductions (and a few treats), she warms up quickly.
She’s house trained, crate trained, and lovely on leash. Her favorite pastimes include sniffing adventures, chewing her toys with gusto, and curling up for a cozy nap beside her person.
Carrie would thrive in a calm, low-traffic home — ideally outside the city — with an experienced adopter who appreciates a hound’s heart and independence. She’d be happiest as your one and only, no kids or other pets required.

From a small rural shelter in GA; initially rescued with her sister. Adopted in 2017 as a young dog shortly after arriving in Brooklyn and returned in late 2024 when she did not adapt well to changes to her home environment.

We do our best to ensure the dogs in our care are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered (when old enough), microchipped, and given a general health check. Immediate medical needs and medical history will be addressed with the adopter prior to adoption. Complete vet records will be sent shortly after adoption.
