Bobby Okereke

AGE/ESTIMATED WEIGHT: 4 years old / 70 lbs

BIO: I may not be jogging out of the tunnel at MetLife, but I sure enter a room like I could! I’ve got a big presence, bigger enthusiasm, and instant “I love you, stranger” energy. I’m social and polite with people and other pups, and I adore my walks as much as cuddling up with my people at home. Plus, I’m a total smartie pants with a pro-level “sit”!

PERSONALITY: Friendly, trainable, eager to please

  • Yes, he shares a name with an NFL powerhouse, and honestly? It fits. Bobby arrives in your home like he’s jogging out of the tunnel on game day: big presence, big enthusiasm, big “I love you, stranger!” energy. The good news is he uses all that power for good — greeting you, greeting your friends, greeting that random person across the street he’s pretty sure is meant to be his best friend.

Bobby is a sweet, attached, eager-to-please guy still figuring out the city playbook. He’s settling into foster life, bonding beautifully, and soaking up affection like it’s his job. He’s moderately energetic, loves walks, and has great dog-dog manners. He sniffs politely, prances a little, then moves on like the gentleman he is. In playgroups and boarding, he’s been social, appropriate, and downright charming. Cats and kids remain TBD, but given his strength and tendency to jump when excited, younger kids will likely require some coaching.

Training-wise, Bobby is building a solid foundation — with a few “rookie learning moments” along the way. Potty training is progressing like a normal city transition. Crate training, though, is officially a work in progress. He started out doing well: some whining, then settling nicely. But after a few weeks, Bobby decided he was too talented for a basic wire crate and began breaking out of it. He’s since been moved to a sturdier setup, and it’s helping, but his new home should be ready to continue this work with patience, consistency, and the right equipment.

At home, he’s all cuddle, all heart, all the time. Walks, snuggles, and being near his person? That’s the dream.

If you’re looking for a big-hearted, big-bodied teammate who wants to love you with his whole being, Bobby Okereke is ready to take the field — and pick you first.
